The NBA starts off the week with nine games on the schedule Monday. With so many options to wade through, let’s get right down to business and examine some value plays that could be in line for big performances. POINT GUARDS
Cameron Payne, CHI vs. GS

With Kris Dunn (knee) out for over a month, Payne will continue to start at point guard for the Bulls. Across five starts this year, he’s averaging 11 points, 2.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.8 three-pointers per contest. This game feels like a blowout in the making, but Payne should still get enough playing time to provide value, especially since the Warriors play at the eighth-fastest pace (103.6 possessions per game) in the league.
Derrick Rose, MIN vs. LAL
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $5,100
Rose has been one of the key cogs off the bench for the Timberwolves, averaging 28 minutes per contest. His 41.4 percent shooting percentage isn’t great, but he’s still averaging 14.8 points. Scoring hasn’t been his only area of value, either, with averages of 3.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists, as well. The Lakers have allowed the second-most points per game (122.2) and play at the fifth-fastest-pace (106.4), leaving Rose with a matchup to exploit.
SHOOTING GUARDS
Wesley Matthews, DAL at SA
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings = $5,200
Quick, who is leading the Mavericks in scoring this season? Is it their promising rookie Luka Doncic? Maybe it’s Dennis Smith Jr., who had a 28.9 percent usage rate last year? Nope, it’s the veteran Matthews at 20 points per game. Known more for his defensive abilities, Matthews has cashed in his career-high 23.3 percent usage rate in the early going. It’s hard to imagine him keeping this up for the entire season, but he’s playing 34 minutes a game and is clearly a key part of the Mavericks’ starting lineup.
Monte Morris, DEN vs. NO

DraftKings = $4,500
With Isaiah Thomas (hip) yet to play in a game this year, Morris has worked his way into an expanded role. He’s shown some promise, averaging 13.3 points, four rebounds, six assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 three-points in all three games in which he has logged at least 20 minutes. The Pelicans play at the fourth-fastest pace (106.8), which could lead to a productive outing from Morris on Monday.
SMALL FORWARDS
Harrison Barnes, DAL at SA
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $5,200
The Mavericks had a severe lack of talent last year, leading Barnes to average 18.9 points and 1.5 three-pointers with a 25.2 percent usage rate. Barnes was sidelined to start the season due to a hamstring injury, but is healthy now and logged 34 minutes Sunday against the Jazz. His shot has been off so far, but it’s encouraging to see him get at least 13 field goal attempts in both games. His value is mostly limited to points and rebounds, but he is still someone to consider at this reduced price.
Justise Winslow, MIA vs. SAC
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $4,200
Winslow has only played one game this season because of a hamstring issue of his own. He logged 19 minutes in that contest Saturday against the Blazers and came out of the game with no apparent ill effects. His minutes upside is limited even when he is healthy, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore him for your entry. The Heat could put up a lot of points in this game with the Kings allowing the third-most points per game (120.3) and playing at the third-fastest pace (107.3).
POWER FORWARDS
Trey Lyles, DEN vs. NO
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,300
The injury to Will Barton (groin) has opened up a little extra playing time for Lyles. He’s logged at least 20 minutes in all three games since Barton went down, averaging 9.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, three assists, and 1.3 steals. Morris certainly has the higher upside of the two key reserves for the Nuggets, but Lyles is also someone to consider if you’re looking to save money at power forward.
Ersan Ilyasova, MIL vs. TOR
FanDuel = $4,100
DraftKings = $4,100
The Bucks could be without their best player Monday as Giannis Antetokounmpo is listed as questionable due to a concussion. If he can’t play, that leaves a huge void in their offense. Ilyasova could enter the starting five if Giannis sits, which would leave him with significantly more upside than his current role off the bench. That being said, you might want to consider Ilyasova even if Giannis does play since he is one of the key parts of their second unit.
CENTERS
Julius Randle, NO at DEN
FanDuel = $6,300
DraftKings = $6,200
Randle started in place of Anthony Davis (elbow) on Saturday, but he only played 19 minutes. It was a tough matchup against Rudy Gobert, which could be the main reason why he finished with just 12 points and three rebounds. Davis’ status is in doubt again Monday, potentially leaving Randle with another opportunity to start. If that’s the case, he could be a great option since he won’t have to deal with Gobert again.
Dewayne Dedmon, ATL at PHI
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,700
With Dedmon missing the start of the season due to an ankle injury, Alex Len was given a chance to start at center. He didn’t do much with his opportunity, but he has continued to start even after Dedmon’s return. It wouldn’t be surprising for him to lose the job soon, though, especially since Dedmon looked great Saturday with 13 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks against the Bulls. Facing Joel Embiid is no easy task, but Dedmon is still someone to consider if you want to go really cheap at center.

De’Aaron Fox, SAC at DEN

Fox’s improved numbers this year can be attributed to two factors in the early going. First, he’s averaging 35 minutes per game compared to 28 minutes per contest last season. Second, he’s shooting 52.5 percent from the field compared to 41.2 percent during his rookie campaign. While his shooting percentage is likely to decline, his increased playing time might stick. He’s shown he can contribute across the board by averaging 20.7 points, five rebounds, 7.7 assists, and 1.3 steals, making him a great option Tuesday.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, LAC at NO

DraftKings = $3,900
Like many rookies, Gilgeous-Alexander has been inconsistent to start his career. While he has chipped in exactly four assists in each of his three games, he sandwiched 11 and 12 point games around a two-point performance against the Thunder. On the bright side, he logged between 23 and 28 minutes in all three games. The Pelicans play at the second-fastest pace (108.8 possessions per game) in the league, which could leave Gilgeous-Alexander with added opportunities to provide value.
SHOOTING GUARDS
Markelle Fultz, PHI at DET

DraftKings = $4,900
Ben Simmons had to leave Saturday’s game against the Magic early due to a stiff back. He’s listed as questionable for Tuesday, so his status is something to monitor as game time approaches. If he doesn’t play, Fultz could see a significant boost in value. Even if Simmons does take the floor, Fultz has averaged 8.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.3 steals across his first three games. His shot still has a long ways to go, but that’s enough overall production to be worth considering for your entry on such a limited slate.
Torrey Craig, DEN vs. SAC

DraftKings = $3,800
The Nuggets suffered a tough blow when they lost Will Barton to a groin injury. Craig started in his place Saturday and should remain in that role moving forward. His five points in 27 minutes were nothing to write home about, but he did chip in with nine rebounds, a steal, and a block. At near the minimum price on both sites, his minutes floor alone making him an intriguing option in tournament play.
SMALL FORWARDS
Danilo Gallinari, LAC at NO
FanDuel = $6,600
DraftKings = $6,300
If only Gallinari could put together a healthy season. Since entering the league in 2008-09, Gallinari has played at least 70 games in a season only two times. He missed the entire 2013-14 season with a torn ACL and has played 63 games or fewer in all four seasons since. Last year, he only played in 21 contests. The good news is that he’s healthy now and firing on all cylinders, averaging 20.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and three three-pointers. He has a 25.8% usage rate and is playing 31 minutes per contest, so take advantage of him being healthy while you still can.
Nemanja Bjelica, SAC at DEN
FanDuel = $5,400
DraftKings = $4,600
Bjelica has started each of the Kings first three games, which is a bit surprising considering they drafted Marvin Bagley III. Not only is Bjelica starting, but he logged at least 27 minutes in two of those three contests. He didn’t always get a lot of playing time for the Timberwolves last year, but Bjelica did average 10.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals across his 21 starts. Although he’s risky, he could outproduce this price point if given extended minutes again Tuesday.
POWER FORWARDS
Tobias Harris, LAC at NO

DraftKings = $7,500
The Clippers made a franchise-altering move last year when they traded Blake Griffin to the Pistons. Harris was part of the return for the Clippers and has been one of the focal points of their offense ever since. He’s currently averaging a career-high 22.7 points per game and has chipped in eight rebounds per contest. His 50% field goal percentage is likely unsustainable, but his 24.9% usage rate is going to leave him with a high floor most nights.
Montrezl Harrell, LAC at NO
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $4,300
Another significant change the Clippers underwent was the departure of DeAndre Jordan. They brought in Marcin Gortat to take over the starting center job, but he’s played 20 minutes or fewer in each of their three games. Harrell and Boban Marjanovic have been rotating as his primary backup, but this game against the athletic Pelicans seems to be a contest better suited for Harrell’s skillset. He can put up numbers when given the opportunity, scoring 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds and three blocks across 24 minutes Saturday against the Rockets.
CENTERS
Julius Randle, NO vs. LAC

DraftKings = $6,700
The Pelicans may have lost DeMarcus Cousins to the Warriors, but Randle was a great addition to their roster. He’s wasted no time making a significant impact, averaging 19 points and 11 rebounds over their first two games. Even though he’s coming off the bench, he still played at least 24 minutes in both games and has a 26.4% usage rate. Based on the pace at which the Pelicans play, expect him to continue to have plenty of chances to provide value.
Zaza Pachulia, DET vs. PHI

DraftKings = $3,800
Andre Drummond missed practice with the flu Monday and is considered questionable for Tuesday. Facing Joel Embiid, this isn’t likely a situation where the Pistons can just go small should Drummond miss the game. One player who would seemingly benefit from his absence is Pachulia, who has already grabbed at least seven rebounds in both of their games. Don’t count on Pachulia to score much, but considering his bargain basement price, he’s someone to consider if Drummond sits.

Over his last five starts Teague has been en feugo. Putting up 21.6 points per game, 6.4 assists, getting the heavy minutes (35), all of this while averaging 40 fantasy points per game. At this price point, with this floor (~32.5), I just don’t see why you wouldn’t have him locked in your DraftKings cash lineup.
De’Aaron Fox, vs. Nets (FD: $5800, DK: $5600)
Projected Points: FD: 28.42, DK: 28.81
If you can’t afford Lillard as the stud of the night then look no further than Fox. Fox is on the uptick every since getting over his tragic pink-eyed incident last Sunday. He’ll get the minutes that you’ll want to see, around 30, which should be where his floor will remain intact versus the sad Brooklyn Nets.
Stud of Night:
Damian Lillard – The expensive pick of the night but I believe that he will be worth it, as he has been on a roll lately.
Shootings Guards
C.J. McCollum, vs. Timberwolves (FD: $7200, DK: $6900)
Projected Points: FD: 33.9, DK: 35.05
Could be one of the chalkiest plays of the night, however, some people might stay away as he had a rough night last night after only scoring 11 points. But, history generally shows that after a rough game he bounces back just fine, especially against Minnesota who give up 35 fantasy points to shooting guard starters. McCollum devoured the Wolves last time out, hitting the perfect lineup and in both DraftKings and FanDuel.
D’Angelo Russell, vs. Kings (FD: $7500, DK: $7300)
Projected Points: FD: 36.72, DK: 38.35
Russell really came through in the last quarter of Tuesday nights game versus the Cavs. Scoring 45 fantasy points, while hitting 9-of-18 shots and three 3-pointers for a total of 25 points, five rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes of play. His numbers have certainly looked solid, and so has the knee he had surgery on since joining the Nets.
Small Forward
DeMarre Carroll, vs. Kings (FD: $5900, DK: $5900)
Projected Points: FD: 29.07, DK: 29.48
I like Carroll tonight to EAT against the Sacramento defense, as Rich Block from Rich’s Building Blocks videos would say in our Lineuplab Facebook Group. His salary is inexpensive and he should undoubtedly hit around the 5x value range. His fantasy points per game have increased over his last five starts showing that this is his perfect time for a perfect lineup.
Nemanja Bjelica, vs. Trail Blazers (FD: $5800, DK: $5300)
Projected Points: FD: 26.29, DK: 26.56
With Jimmy Butler now out for several weeks, it’s the ideal time to lock him into your lineups. Another underpriced player who is playing around the high 30’s in minutes per game. Monday night versus Sacramento Bjelica was in both of the perfect lineups after garnering 36 FanDuel points and 34 DraftKings points. At this price, he is a steal with a solid floor for cash games.
Studs of the Night (if you can afford them, go for it):
Brandon Ingram, vs. Heat (FD: $7400, DK: $6900)

Saric has been one of the most consistent players for the 76ers, scoring double digits in 40 straight games. What worries me, slightly, is that Philadelphia has just acquired Ersan Ilyasova and is available to play in Thursday nights game, however, being brand new to the squad it is hard to imagine him taking away a lot of playing time from the most consistent guy on the team.
Zach Randolph, vs. Nets (FD: $6100, DK: $6300)
Projected Points: FD: 27.32, DK: 28.11
Randolph tonight is yet another guy poised to go off if Skal Labissiere (ankle) sits (as of right now he is probable). Randolph has been playing well as the Kings continue to have problems with the Center/Forward position. He scored 36.5 DK and 35.1 FanDuel points and does rather well against teams that play at a higher pace (the Nets play at the sixth pace in the league, while the Kings are close the bottom, locking in the 3rd slowest pace in the league.)
Punt Play:
Ed Davis, vs. Timberwolves (FD: $4000, DK: $4200)
Projected Points: FD: 13.4, DK: 13.25
Center
Hassan Whiteside, vs. Lakers (FD: $7,700, DK: $8,000)
Projected Points: FD: 39.9, DK: 40.17
Over the course of the past ten games, Whiteside has managed to average a double-double putting up 13.7 points per game while grabbing 12.3 rebounds per game. He’s also nearly averaging two blocks per game during the same timeframe and you know how valuable those blocks can be in fantasy basketball. On Tuesday night he crushed the 76ers, putting up 46 DraftKings and 49 FanDuel points.
Julius Randle, vs. Heat (FD: $7,700, DK: $7,500)
Projected Points: FD: 33.8, DK: 34.4
What’s not to love about Julius Randle as of late? Even his coach commended him, saying that he been playing with energy, impact and consistency. His minutes over the last three games have averaged up to 32.5 per game, while his fantasy points have been value-worthy (44.3 DraftKings / 41 FanDuel). Randle has a solid floor of the high 30’s/low 40’s lately, look for him to beat projections tonight.

Rubio’s first season with the Jazz has been a struggle, resulting in him averaging a career-low 5.0 assists per game. His overall numbers lately have been better though, averaging 13.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.2 steals in his last six games. Friday brings an excellent matchup against the Suns who play at the third-fastest pace (102.1 possessions per game) and allow the most points per game (111.8) in the league. You shouldn’t expect Rubio to put up a ton of points, but he can contribute enough across the board to provide value.

Fox had possibly his best month of the season in January, averaging 14.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 three-pointers in 14 games. It’s no coincidence that he averaged 30 minutes per game during the month, which is at least three minutes more per contest than any of the previous three months. With the Kings declaring they are going to give their young players more minutes, this is a trend that should continue for Fox down the stretch. With added opportunities to produce against a Warriors team that plays at the second-fastest pace (102.4) in the league Friday, Fox is worth consideration for your entry.
SHOOTING GUARDS
Nicolas Batum, CHA vs. IND

DraftKings = $6,400
Batum has always had the ability to contribute excellent all-around numbers, but he’s struggled to adjust to an elbow injury and the addition of Dwight Howard for much of this season. However, he’s showing signs of coming out of his funk, even posting a triple-double Wednesday against the Hawks. He also played well against these same Pacers on Monday, scoring 22 points to go along with four rebounds, two assists, and five three-pointers. He’s played at least 34 minutes in three straight games, which is great news considering he’s more of a stat compiler as opposed to excelling in any one category. His price is climbing, but it’s still low enough to make him a viable option Friday.
Tony Snell, MIL vs. NY
FanDuel = $4,000
DraftKings = #3,700
This could be an ugly game for the Bucks. Eric Bledsoe (ankle) was unable to play Thursday against the Timberwolves and Malcolm Brogdon (quad) also suffered an injury that should keep him out Friday at the very least. To make matters worse, Giannis Antetokounmpo twisted his ankle late in the game. If all three players are ruled out Friday, Snell is going to see a significant increase in playing time. Even if Bledsoe is able to return, Snell should play a lot if both Brogdon and Giannis can’t take the floor. Keep an eye on the Bucks’ injury updates leading up to this game because even though Snell is not a great offensive player, the added minutes alone can give him value at this dirt cheap price.
SMALL FORWARDS
DeMarre Carroll, BKN vs. LAL

DraftKings = $5,800
The Nets will continue to be thin up front Friday with Ronda Hollis-Jefferson (groin) still out. In the last three games that Hollis-Jefferson has missed, Carroll is averaging 13.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 three-pointers per contest. He doesn’t have a ton of scoring upside, but he does have a favorable matchup against the Lakers who play at the fastest pace (103.2) and are tied for the third-most points allowed per game (110.3) in the league. At this reasonable price, Carroll is worth consideration.
Josh Jackson, PHO vs. UTA
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $5,200
Jackson is starting to see more consistent playing time, logging at least 28 minutes in three of the last four games. He’s made the most of his opportunity, averaging 19.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.3 three-pointers in those three contests. The Suns just lost Isaiah Canaan (ankle) for the season, which should also help free up some minutes for Jackson. He has excellent upside, making him someone to strongly consider for your entry.
POWER FORWARDS
Thaddeus Young, IND at CHA
FanDuel = $6,200
DraftKings = $5,700
Young is getting plenty of playing time for the Pacers, logging at least 35 minutes in seven of his last nine games. He doesn’t always score a lot, but he has managed to produce at least 16 points in three of his last five games. He’s also provided a boost in value with his defensive contributions, recording at least two steals in seven of his last eight games. The Hornets don’t have much depth at power forward with Marvin Williams (ankle) out, leaving Young with an opportunity to provide value Friday.
John Henson, MIL vs. NY
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $4,800
Henson doesn’t put up crazy numbers, but the Bucks have very little talent at center, leaving him with extended playing time. He’s not only scored at least 10 points in seven straight games, but he is also averaging 6.4 rebounds during that stretch. The Knicks have a lot of size up front, likely leaving Henson with another significant role Friday. His upside isn’t that high, but that doesn’t mean he’s not someone to consider at this cheap price. Of note, Henson is only power forward eligible on FanDuel as he is eligible only at center on DraftKings.
CENTERS
Julius Randle, LAL at BKN

DraftKings = $6,700
Randle enters Friday averaging 18.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in his last five games. Brook Lopez has logged 15 minutes or less in three of those five contests, leaving Randle with added playing time. Randle has the third-highest usage rate (24.7%) on the team, so the added playing time is significant for his upside. The Nets allow the most points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing centers, so don’t hesitate to play Randle.
Jahlil Okafor, BKN vs. LAL

DraftKings = $3,800
After playing at least 24 minutes in back-to-back games, Okafor took a back seat to Jarrett Allen on Wednesday, playing just 14 minutes. Although Allen played well in that game, he too has been inconsistent this season. Okafor actually has a 20.5% usage rate since being traded to the Nets, so he does have upside when he gets playing time. It’s tough to go with a player in an uncertain role like Okafor’s, but he might be worth the risk if you are looking for a really cheap center.

Although he’s not a volume scorer, he still provides a steady floor with averages of 2.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.3 three-pointers per game. He gets a favorable match Friday against a Lakers team that plays at the fastest pace (103.6 possessions per game) in the league, which should give him added opportunities to provide value at this reasonable price.
Tyler Ennis, LAL vs. IND

The Lakers are going to be short-handed at guard Friday with both Lonzo Ball (knee) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Achilles) ruled out, so expect Ennis to be in the starting lineup. He’s played well in his previous five starts this season, averaging 9.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 0.8 steals per game. His upside isn’t extremely high, but it doesn’t have to be to warrant consideration for your entry at this very cheap price.
SHOOTING GUARDS
Tim Hardaway Jr., NY at UTA

Hardaway has played well in three games since returning from a leg injury, averaging 19.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 2.7 three-pointers per game. He played 26 minutes or less in two of those games, so his ceiling could be much higher if he can return to his normal amount of playing time Friday. With a career-high 24% usage rate this year, Hardaway is one of the better value plays of the night at shooting guard.
Josh Hart, LAL vs. IND

Hart has played at least 30 minutes in a game five times this season, averaging 15.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.0 steal and 2.0 three-pointers per contest. Jordan Clarkson is in a shooting slump right now, hitting only 37.6% of his shots so far this month. While Clarkson might have the higher upside when his shot is falling, I feel more comfortable going with Hart’s consistency Friday.
SMALL FORWARDS
Wilson Chandler, DEN vs. PHO

Chandler’s scoring is way down this season at 9.4 points per game, his lowest since the 2011-12 season where he only played eight total games. His playing time hasn’t decreased, but his usage rate is a career-low 14.8%. The good news is the minutes are still there and he is averaging 6.7 rebounds over his last seven games. He played very well in his first meeting with the Suns this season, finishing with 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three three-pointers. The Suns play at the fourth-fastest pace (102.4) and allow the most points per game (112.4) in the league, so Chandler does have some upside in this contest.
Dillon Brooks, MEM vs. SAC

Brooks enters Friday on a small hot streak, averaging 18.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.5 three-pointers in his last two games. He played at least 27 minutes in both of those games and could be in line for added playing time again Friday with James Ennis III (calf) already ruled out. The Kings have struggled to defend opposing small forwards this season, so Brooks might be worth the risk if you are playing in a tournament Friday.
POWER FORWARDS
Domantas Sabonis, IND at LAL

Sabonis continues to fill in as the starting center for the Pacers with Myles Turner (elbow) sidelined. He’s done a nice job so far, averaging 12.4 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists through 13 starts. Not only will the Lakers uptempo pace likely afford Sabonis a few extra opportunities to produce, but they also allow the sixth-most FanDuel points per game and the eighth-most DraftKings points per game to opposing centers. Expect Sabonis to at least approach another double-double in this game.
JaMychal Green, MEM vs. SAC

Green is in the midst of one of his most productive stretches this season, averaging 12.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.0 steal in his last six games. The Grizzlies are struggling this season and don’t have great depth up front, so Green is likely going to see heavy playing time if he keeps this up. The Kings have a lot of size up front but have struggled to defend power forwards throughout this season. Don’t be surprised if he and Sabonis have very similar stat lines when the night is all said and done.
CENTERS
Julius Randle, LAL vs. IND

Randle has been one of the most productive players for the Lakers, posting the third-highest usage rate (24.8%) on the team. His overall numbers have been a bit inconsistent of late but he has still managed to score at least 15 points in five of his last seven games. With the Lakers thin at guard, they could look to their frontcourt for added production. The Pacers allow the most points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing centers, making Randle someone to strongly consider for your entry.
Jonas Valanciunas, TOR vs. SA

Valanciunasis playing well right now, scoring at least 15 points and grabbing at least 13 rebounds in four of his last seven games. He’s only averaging 21 minutes per game this season but has played at least 26 minutes in three of his last six contests. The Spurs have a lot of size up front, so Valanciunas could be in line for added playing time again Friday. At this price, don’t be afraid to take a chance on him in tournament play based on his minutes potential.

Wright has played at least 29 minutes in four of his last six games, averaging 14.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists in those four contests. With an expanded role in the cards again Thursday, Wright could provide excellent value.

The Spurs are going to be short-handed Thursday with Kawhi Leonard (shoulder) and Rudy Gay (heel) out, Tony Parker (ankle) doubtful and Danny Green (groin) questionable. Mills has played at least 30 minutes in a game three times this season, averaging 10.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.7 three-pointers in those contests. The Lakers play at the fastest pace (103.9 possessions per game) and allow the second-most points per game (111.1) in the league, leaving Mills as a viable option for your entry.

Williams is putting the Clippers on his back right now, averaging 31.8 points over his last 10 games. He scored a whopping 50 points Wednesday against the Warriors, but still managed to chip in seven assists in the game. The Clippers continue to be hit hard by injuries, which has led Williams to post a career-high 30% usage rate. The Clippers backcourt will be thin again Thursday, so look for more elite production from Williams against the Kings.
Bogdan Bogdanovic, SAC vs. LAC

The Kings inconsistent rotations make it hard to rely on their players in DFS but Bogdanovic has been one of the few you can count on lately. He’s played at least 30 minutes in five of his last seven games, which is a significant threshold for his value. He’s played at least 30 minutes in a game nine times this season, averaging 14.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.6 steals. At this reasonable price, he might be one of the more safer cheaper guard options Thursday.

James is coming off one of his worst games of the season on Monday, but he only played 27 minutes in a blowout loss to the Timberwolves. Games like that are few and far between based on his 30.8% usage rate, which is ninth-highest in the league. He is the only player priced over $10,000 on both FanDuel and DraftKings on Thursday, but his upside is so high, it’s going to be hard to keep him out of your lineup.

With the Spurs dealing with injuries to several key players, look for Anderson to make another start Thursday. He’s started each of the last four games, averaging 7.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.5 steals and 0.8 blocks per game. While the offensive numbers aren’t anything to write home about, his defensive contributions help him to provide value. Considering how fast the Lakers play and how poorly they are on the defensive end, Anderson could have one of his better offensive games of the season. On a night with limited options, he is definitely someone to consider.

LaMarcus Aldridge, SA at LAL

Aldridge is off to a great start in January, averaging 28.5 points and 11.5 rebounds through four games. With Leonard back on the shelf, he should continue to be the main contributor on offense for the Spurs. The Lakers struggle to defend opposing power forwards, allowing the fifth-most FanDuel points per game and third-most DraftKings points per game to the position. Aldridge is one of the best options available at any position Thursday, so don’t hesitate to add him to your lineup.

Bertans is another player that has seen increased action due to all of the Spurs injuries, logging at least 27 minutes in four straight games. He’s shown he can provide an offensive jolt, averaging 15.3 points and 3.3 three-pointers in those contests. With added playing time likely on tap again Thursday, he could be worth the risk in tournament play at this cheap price.

The Clippers have dealt with a ton of injuries, but Jordan has been one of the mainstays on their roster. He’s always been a dominant rebounder, but he’s averaging a career-high 15.1 rebounds per game this season. He’s also been forced to take on a bigger role in the offense, averaging 17.6 points in his last five games. If Griffin can’t go again Thursday, it will leave Jordan to be a one-man gang on the glass against a deep Kings frontcourt. Even if Griffin does play, Jordan still has considerable value.

The Lakers have finally unleashed Randle. He’s started each of the last seven games, even with the return of Brook Lopez. He’s taken full advantage of the opportunity, averaging 17.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists in those starts. While the Spurs are dealing with a lot of injuries, they still have Aldridge and Pau Gasol up front, which should lead to a big role for Randle again in this game. If you can’t afford to squeeze Jordan into your lineup, Randle is someone to strongly consider.

POINT GUARDS
Tyler Johnson, MIA vs. BKN

The Heat have been one of the most injured teams in the league of late, leaving Johnson to average 36 minutes over his last five games. He hasn’t let that opportunity go to waste, averaging 16.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.0 three-pointer per game. While Goran Dragic is back healthy, now the Heat have lost Dion Waiters (ankle). The Nets play at the fourth-fastest pace (102.8) in the league, leaving Johnson with the potential to provide excellent value Friday.

Although Barea is only averaging 23 minutes per game off the bench for the Mavericks this season, he is still averaging a career-high 12 points per game. The main reason for that has been his 25.8% usage rate, which is second highest on the team. Barea should have added chances to score Friday as not only do the Pelicans play at the seventh-fastest pace (101.9) in the league, but they also allow the second-most points per game (110.9). The price is right to take a chance on him in tournament play.
SHOOTING GUARDS
Wayne Ellington, MIA vs. BKN

Ellington is another player benefiting from the rash of injuries on the Heat, playing at least 32 minutes in five straight games. He’s been lethal from behind the arc, shooting 20-for-44 (45.5%) during that stretch. Scoring hasn’t been his only contribution to the Heat either, grabbing at least six rebounds in three of those five games. Considering the small lineups the Nets deploy and the fast pace at which they play, Ellington is a viable option for your entry.
Josh Hart, LAL vs. LAC

The Lakers have dealt with depth issues at guard lately, with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope being unable to play outside of the state of California because of legal issues and Lonzo Ball (shoulder) injured. Hart has seen an unexpected bump in playing time, as a result, logging at least 30 minutes in three straight games. While he hasn’t put up any monster performances, he’s provided value by averaging 10.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 three-pointers over that stretch. While Caldwell-Pope will be able to play Friday, Ball will still be out of action. Considering his cheap price, he is an option to consider at shooting guard.

Lance Stephenson, IND at CHI

Stephenson will likely start again Friday with Victor Oladipo (knee) ruled out for the second straight game. Stephenson was fantastic in his first start filling in for Oladipo on Wednesday, scoring 16 points to go along with 15 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two three-pointers. Even with limited minutes outside of Wednesday’s game, Stephenson has now scored at least 10 points in four of his last five games. Look for him to be productive again in this game versus the Bulls.
Allen Crabbe, BKN at MIA

Like most starters on the Nets, Crabbe struggled in limited minutes Wednesday against the Pelicans. He had averaged 12.6 points in five games entering that contest, so chalk it up to just a bad performance by the team in general. He’s not just an offensive weapon for the Nets either, grabbing at least five rebounds in five straight games. This should be a game filled with small lineups Friday, so Crabbe might be worth the risk at this price.

Markieff Morris, WAS vs. HOU

DraftKings = $4,800
Morris is finally starting to get consistent playing time, resulting in at least 27 minutes in five of his last six games. In those five games, he averaged 13.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 three-pointers per contest. The Rockets play a lot of small lineups, to begin with, but will likely really go small with Clint Capela (face) out Friday. Considering they play at the eighth-fastest pace (101.4) in the league, Morris is worth consideration for your entry.
Ryan Anderson, HOU at WAS

DraftKings = $5,100
Speaking of the Rockets going small with Capela out, Anderson played a whopping 40 minutes without Capela on Thursday against the Celtics. He didn’t have an explosive performance but managed to finish with nine points, eight rebounds, one steal, one block and two-three-pointers against a tough Celtics defense. His volume alone makes him a possible option for your lineup, but he could really be worth it if he gets hot from behind the arc.
CENTERS
Julius Randle, LAL vs. LAC

Randle played only 11 minutes while struggling against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, but had averaged 17.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in three games prior. His struggles Wednesday shouldn’t be surprising as the Grizzlies allow the fewest points per game to opposing centers on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Expect him to play more minutes and fair better Friday, especially if Kyle Kuzma (quad) does not play.
Jakob Poeltl, TOR vs. ATL
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,300
Poeltl is establishing a significant role off the bench for the Raptors, averaging 22 minutes over his last seven games. He doesn’t put up gaudy numbers but did average 8.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks over that stretch. The Hawks don’t have much size up front, resulting in allowing the seventh-most points per game on FanDuel and the sixth most points per game on DraftKings to opposing centers. His ceiling isn’t very high, but Poeltl is a viable option if you want to go really cheap at center.

POINT GUARDS:
Russell Westbrook ($11,500 FD/$10,900 DK) –
With so many superstar options in this slate Russell Westbrook may be your guy to pay up for as he is cheaper than LeBron and Harden on both platforms and cheaper than Kevin Durant on FanDuel. Lately, Westbrook has been an absolute menace to the stat sheet. He has scored 20+ points in six straight games, averaging a whopping 60.8 FanDuel PPG over those contests. He meets with former teammate James Harden on Christmas night, and is in great position to put on a show. The Rockets rank first in the league in offensive rating along with 8th in pace which could push the Thunder to increase the tempo and work quicker leading to more possessions and opportunity for Westbrook.
Jordan Clarkson ($4,000 FD/$4,700 DK) –
Although listed as a SG on FanDuel (PG eligible on DraftKings), Clarkson seems to be a great play Monday night. The backup point guard should be getting the start for injured Lonzo Ball, who has already been listed as out for this contest. Clarkson hasn’t been so hot off the bench lately, but we’ve all seen what he’s capable of doing. At one point in the season he was outperforming Ball immensely enough where he would play the entire 4th quarter of games while Ball would sit. His recent decline in productivity has been adjusted into his salary which makes it even better for this slate. He will be playing the Timberwolves, who rank 22nd in defending opposing point guards this season. With a dirt cheap price Clarkson won’t need to do much to exceed value, making him a great asset to withhold a steady salary.
SHOOTING GUARDS:
Klay Thompson ($7,000 FD/$6,400 DK) –
With James Harden being very expensive in this slate ($12,000 FD/$11,100 DK), it may be smart to save some salary on the shooting guard position. Klay meets with the Cleveland Cavaliers for a third straight Christmas match-up. Once again Curry is sidelined, giving Klay and KD a heavy offensive workload against the poor defense Cleveland brings to the court. Klay has not had many breakout DFS games with Curry out, but has been very consistent. He has averaged 31.3 FanDuel PPG in the eight game absence from Steph.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope ($6,100 FD/$5,100 DK) –
Caldwell-Pope has been dealing with some legal issues, as he is unable to leave the state of California. Luckily for him, Monday night’s game is indeed in Los Angeles. Listed at a fairly cheap price, KCP has been very productive in the games he has played recently. Over his last four games he has averaged 34.4 FanDuel PPG. He has also added at least two steals in seven straight games, which weighs heavy on the DFS scoring system especially on FanDuel. In those same seven games, KCP has accompanied his defensive skill set with double digit scoring as well. Caldwell-Pope may be your guy for this slate to fill the void in the SG spot.
SMALL FORWARDS:
Kevin Durant ($12,100 FD/$10,500 DK) –
Kevin Durant can destroy just about any defense which makes his date with the Cavaliers a lot more appealing considering their weak defense discussed in Klay’s feature. The Cavs are allowing an average of 42.5 FPPG to the small forward position. KD has scored 50 or more FanDuel points in 6 of the 8 games played without sharing the court with Curry; with 3 of those 6 accumulating to 65+ points. The intensity of this game seems promising with both teams ranking in the top half of the league in pace. These teams are also “rivals” as they have met in three straight NBA finals. With a high price tag and a ton of superstar options, Kevin Durant seems worth paying up for if you can find the salary to fit him.
Trevor Ariza ($5,600 FD/$5,000 DK) –
In this slate, you’re going to need a few fairly priced plays that will provide you just enough to stack on top of your superstars performance. With that being the case, Trevor Ariza has a reliable resume to hold you over. He has a little bit of a tough game opposing a top defense in the Oklahoma City Thunder, but has proved to be very consistent for his price. Ariza has supplied 20+ FanDuel points along with double digit points in nine straight games. His teammate, Chris Paul, is listed as questionable with a leg injury which could open up a small boost in usage for Ariza if he is in fact incapable of playing. Ariza is definitely worth the risk in this slate as his sub-$6,000 salary will also open room for some bigger plays and will hopefully keep the 20+ streak alive Christmas night.
POWER FORWARDS:
Ben Simmons ($9,400 FD/$9,300 DK) –
Simmons is a versatile play Monday night as he is listed as a PF on FanDuel yet eligible for PG and SF on DraftKings. Regardless of placement, Simmons is in for a great match-up with the New York Knicks. Teammate Joel Embiid is once again listed as questionable as he has missed five of the 76’ers last eight games with back issues. Simmons has averaged 42.5 FanDuel PPG in those five games without Embiid on the court with him. If Embiid is sidelined expect Simmons’ usage to incline a decent amount as he faces off with a sub-par defense. Seeing what Simmons will do in his first game at Madison Square Garden should be interesting, and definitely a match-up to keep on your radar when trying to generate the perfect lineup. You should also keep your eye on Richaun Holmes and Dario Saric as they will also have a heavy workload if Embiid sits.
Jordan Bell ($4,900 FD/$4,900 DK) –
With the same price tag on both main DFS platforms, Jordan Bell brings a lot of upside to your lineup. The rookie has been filling in for Draymond Green as he has been dealing with an injury as of late and has proved himself to be the go-to guy to fill his void. Even with Draymond back in action the last two games, Bell was granted minutes in the low 20’s in which included a breakout double-double game accumulating to 41.5 FanDuel points. Bell is averaging 25 minutes per game over his last five, and will be playing a Cavs defense ranking dead last in the league at defending the big man positions. To add icing on the cake, Draymond is questionable for this game which could annex even higher upside on this very cheap play. Luckily, FanDuel has gifted us all a Christmas present of their own with a late swap enabled slate.
CENTERS:
Kevin Love ($8,000 FD/$7,500 DK) –
It’s hard to stay away from a game with so much more to it than a +1 in the win column which is why Kevin Love makes a great play. Love is averaging a double-double this season and has supplied 20 or more points in four of his last five games with an average of 38.9 FanDuel PPG in that span. Ironically, Love is only averaging just under 30 minutes per game this season despite his immense production. It is safe to assume that Love will see a good amount of minutes in this rivalry match-up with the Warriors, increasing his ceiling for DFS value. At a salary of $7,500-$8,000 Love can be a perfect play to plug in with a higher priced superstar and could even come very close to replicating that player’s statistics.
Julius Randle ($5,900 FD/$5,000 DK) –
If you are looking to spend small on a position, I personally would advise the Center position to do so in. With a recent injury to Laker’s center Brook Lopez, Randle has seen an increase in minutes at the position. He goes into Monday night’s game against the Timberwolves who allow an average of 54.50 FPPG per 48 minutes to centers this season. Randle has been effective offensively of late, scoring double digit points in 8 of his last 9 games with that one game being one where he only logged 8 minutes of action. When logging at least 20 minutes Randle has scored double digit points in 13 straight games. With a small price tag, Randle seems worth the risk in this small five game slate.
