Point Guards

Daily Fantasy Basketball NBA Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/01/18

Jeff Teague, vs. Trail Blazers (FD: $7,700, DK: $7,200)
Projected Points: FD: 28.49, DK: 28.93

Over his last five starts Teague has been en feugo. Putting up 21.6 points per game, 6.4 assists, getting the heavy minutes (35), all of this while averaging 40 fantasy points per game. At this price point, with this floor (~32.5), I just don’t see why you wouldn’t have him locked in your DraftKings cash lineup.

De’Aaron Fox, vs. Nets (FD: $5800, DK: $5600)
Projected Points: FD: 28.42, DK: 28.81

If you can’t afford Lillard as the stud of the night then look no further than Fox. Fox is on the uptick every since getting over his tragic pink-eyed incident last Sunday. He’ll get the minutes that you’ll want to see, around 30, which should be where his floor will remain intact versus the sad Brooklyn Nets.

Stud of Night:
Damian Lillard – The expensive pick of the night but I believe that he will be worth it, as he has been on a roll lately.

Shootings Guards

Daily Fantasy Basketball NBA Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/01/18

C.J. McCollum, vs. Timberwolves (FD: $7200, DK: $6900)
Projected Points: FD: 33.9, DK: 35.05

Could be one of the chalkiest plays of the night, however, some people might stay away as he had a rough night last night after only scoring 11 points. But, history generally shows that after a rough game he bounces back just fine, especially against Minnesota who give up 35 fantasy points to shooting guard starters. McCollum devoured the Wolves last time out, hitting the perfect lineup and in both DraftKings and FanDuel.

D’Angelo Russell, vs. Kings (FD: $7500, DK: $7300)
Projected Points: FD: 36.72, DK: 38.35

Russell really came through in the last quarter of Tuesday nights game versus the Cavs. Scoring 45 fantasy points, while hitting 9-of-18 shots and three 3-pointers for a total of 25 points, five rebounds and six assists in 32 minutes of play. His numbers have certainly looked solid, and so has the knee he had surgery on since joining the Nets.

Small Forward

Daily Fantasy Basketball NBA Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/01/18

DeMarre Carroll, vs. Kings (FD: $5900, DK: $5900)
Projected Points: FD: 29.07, DK: 29.48

I like Carroll tonight to EAT against the Sacramento defense, as Rich Block from Rich’s Building Blocks videos would say in our Lineuplab Facebook Group. His salary is inexpensive and he should undoubtedly hit around the 5x value range. His fantasy points per game have increased over his last five starts showing that this is his perfect time for a perfect lineup.

Nemanja Bjelica, vs. Trail Blazers (FD: $5800, DK: $5300)
Projected Points: FD: 26.29, DK: 26.56

With Jimmy Butler now out for several weeks, it’s the ideal time to lock him into your lineups. Another underpriced player who is playing around the high 30’s in minutes per game. Monday night versus Sacramento Bjelica was in both of the perfect lineups after garnering 36 FanDuel points and 34 DraftKings points. At this price, he is a steal with a solid floor for cash games.

Studs of the Night (if you can afford them, go for it):
Brandon Ingram, vs. Heat (FD: $7400, DK: $6900)
Projected Points: FD: 31.38, DK: 31.66

LeBron James, vs. 76ers (FD: $12200, DK: $11900)
Projected Points: FD: 55.31, DK: 56.42

Power Forward

Daily Fantasy Basketball NBA Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/01/18

Dario Saric, vs. Cavaliers (FD: $7100, DK: $6500)
Projected Points: FD: 29.19, DK: 30.49

Saric has been one of the most consistent players for the 76ers, scoring double digits in 40 straight games. What worries me, slightly, is that Philadelphia has just acquired Ersan Ilyasova and is available to play in Thursday nights game, however, being brand new to the squad it is hard to imagine him taking away a lot of playing time from the most consistent guy on the team.

Zach Randolph, vs. Nets (FD: $6100, DK: $6300)
Projected Points: FD: 27.32, DK: 28.11

Randolph tonight is yet another guy poised to go off if Skal Labissiere (ankle) sits (as of right now he is probable). Randolph has been playing well as the Kings continue to have problems with the Center/Forward position. He scored 36.5 DK and 35.1 FanDuel points and does rather well against teams that play at a higher pace (the Nets play at the sixth pace in the league, while the Kings are close the bottom, locking in the 3rd slowest pace in the league.)

Punt Play:
Ed Davis, vs. Timberwolves (FD: $4000, DK: $4200)
Projected Points: FD: 13.4, DK: 13.25

Center

Daily Fantasy Basketball NBA Sleepers Lineup Picks for 3/01/18

Hassan Whiteside, vs. Lakers (FD: $7,700, DK: $8,000)
Projected Points: FD: 39.9, DK: 40.17

Over the course of the past ten games, Whiteside has managed to average a double-double putting up 13.7 points per game while grabbing 12.3 rebounds per game. He’s also nearly averaging two blocks per game during the same timeframe and you know how valuable those blocks can be in fantasy basketball. On Tuesday night he crushed the 76ers, putting up 46 DraftKings and 49 FanDuel points.

Julius Randle, vs. Heat (FD: $7,700, DK: $7,500)
Projected Points: FD: 33.8, DK: 34.4

What’s not to love about Julius Randle as of late? Even his coach commended him, saying that he been playing with energy, impact and consistency. His minutes over the last three games have averaged up to 32.5 per game, while his fantasy points have been value-worthy (44.3 DraftKings / 41 FanDuel). Randle has a solid floor of the high 30’s/low 40’s lately, look for him to beat projections tonight.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

Ricky Rubio, UTA at PHO
FanDuel = $5,900
DraftKings = $6,200

Rubio’s first season with the Jazz has been a struggle, resulting in him averaging a career-low 5.0 assists per game. His overall numbers lately have been better though, averaging 13.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.2 steals in his last six games. Friday brings an excellent matchup against the Suns who play at the third-fastest pace (102.1 possessions per game) and allow the most points per game (111.8) in the league. You shouldn’t expect Rubio to put up a ton of points, but he can contribute enough across the board to provide value.

De’Aaron Fox, SAC vs. GS
FanDuel = $5,900
DraftKings = $5,900

Fox had possibly his best month of the season in January, averaging 14.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 three-pointers in 14 games. It’s no coincidence that he averaged 30 minutes per game during the month, which is at least three minutes more per contest than any of the previous three months. With the Kings declaring they are going to give their young players more minutes, this is a trend that should continue for Fox down the stretch. With added opportunities to produce against a Warriors team that plays at the second-fastest pace (102.4) in the league Friday, Fox is worth consideration for your entry.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

Nicolas Batum, CHA vs. IND
FanDuel = $6,100
DraftKings = $6,400

Batum has always had the ability to contribute excellent all-around numbers, but he’s struggled to adjust to an elbow injury and the addition of Dwight Howard for much of this season. However, he’s showing signs of coming out of his funk, even posting a triple-double Wednesday against the Hawks. He also played well against these same Pacers on Monday, scoring 22 points to go along with four rebounds, two assists, and five three-pointers. He’s played at least 34 minutes in three straight games, which is great news considering he’s more of a stat compiler as opposed to excelling in any one category. His price is climbing, but it’s still low enough to make him a viable option Friday.

Tony Snell, MIL vs. NY
FanDuel = $4,000
DraftKings = #3,700

This could be an ugly game for the Bucks. Eric Bledsoe (ankle) was unable to play Thursday against the Timberwolves and Malcolm Brogdon (quad) also suffered an injury that should keep him out Friday at the very least. To make matters worse, Giannis Antetokounmpo twisted his ankle late in the game. If all three players are ruled out Friday, Snell is going to see a significant increase in playing time. Even if Bledsoe is able to return, Snell should play a lot if both Brogdon and Giannis can’t take the floor. Keep an eye on the Bucks’ injury updates leading up to this game because even though Snell is not a great offensive player, the added minutes alone can give him value at this dirt cheap price.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

DeMarre Carroll, BKN vs. LAL
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $5,800

The Nets will continue to be thin up front Friday with Ronda Hollis-Jefferson (groin) still out. In the last three games that Hollis-Jefferson has missed, Carroll is averaging 13.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 three-pointers per contest. He doesn’t have a ton of scoring upside, but he does have a favorable matchup against the Lakers who play at the fastest pace (103.2) and are tied for the third-most points allowed per game (110.3) in the league. At this reasonable price, Carroll is worth consideration.

Josh Jackson, PHO vs. UTA
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $5,200

Jackson is starting to see more consistent playing time, logging at least 28 minutes in three of the last four games. He’s made the most of his opportunity, averaging 19.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.3 three-pointers in those three contests. The Suns just lost Isaiah Canaan (ankle) for the season, which should also help free up some minutes for Jackson. He has excellent upside, making him someone to strongly consider for your entry.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

Thaddeus Young, IND at CHA
FanDuel = $6,200
DraftKings = $5,700

Young is getting plenty of playing time for the Pacers, logging at least 35 minutes in seven of his last nine games. He doesn’t always score a lot, but he has managed to produce at least 16 points in three of his last five games. He’s also provided a boost in value with his defensive contributions, recording at least two steals in seven of his last eight games. The Hornets don’t have much depth at power forward with Marvin Williams (ankle) out, leaving Young with an opportunity to provide value Friday.

John Henson, MIL vs. NY
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $4,800

Henson doesn’t put up crazy numbers, but the Bucks have very little talent at center, leaving him with extended playing time.  He’s not only scored at least 10 points in seven straight games, but he is also averaging 6.4 rebounds during that stretch. The Knicks have a lot of size up front, likely leaving Henson with another significant role Friday. His upside isn’t that high, but that doesn’t mean he’s not someone to consider at this cheap price. Of note, Henson is only power forward eligible on FanDuel as he is eligible only at center on DraftKings.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

Julius Randle, LAL at BKN
FanDuel = $6,600
DraftKings = $6,700

Randle enters Friday averaging 18.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in his last five games. Brook Lopez has logged 15 minutes or less in three of those five contests, leaving Randle with added playing time. Randle has the third-highest usage rate (24.7%) on the team, so the added playing time is significant for his upside. The Nets allow the most points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing centers, so don’t hesitate to play Randle.

Jahlil Okafor, BKN vs. LAL
FanDuel = $4,000
DraftKings = $3,800

After playing at least 24 minutes in back-to-back games, Okafor took a back seat to Jarrett Allen on Wednesday, playing just 14 minutes. Although Allen played well in that game, he too has been inconsistent this season. Okafor actually has a 20.5% usage rate since being traded to the Nets, so he does have upside when he gets playing time. It’s tough to go with a player in an uncertain role like Okafor’s, but he might be worth the risk if you are looking for a really cheap center.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Stephen Curry, GS vs. MIN
FanDuel = $9,900
DraftKings = $10,400

Curry has been a model of consistency for the Warriors, largely due to his 30.9% usage rate that ranks 10th-highest in the league. Add in the fact that the Warriors play at the third-fastest pace (102.5 possessions per game) in the league and he’s going to provide a high floor in DFS most nights. Over his last nine games, he’s averaging 29.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 5.3 three-pointers per game. The Timberwolves don’t defend opposing point guards particularly well, making Curry an excellent option to consider Thursday.

De’Aaron Fox/George Hill, SAC at MIA
FanDuel: $5,400/$4,500
DraftKings: $5,200/$4,500

The Kings continue to give their young players more minutes and sat Hill for rest purposes Tuesday against the Magic. Fox looked primed for a big performance but had to leave the game early due to an abdominal injury. He underwent an MRI and while the results were negative, his status is questionable for Thursday’s game. If he does play, he could provide significant value at this price. However, if he is unable to go, expect Hill to return and see added minutes. Keep an eye out for updates throughout the day and adjust with Fox and Hill accordingly.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Andrew Wiggins, MIN at GS
FanDuel = $6,500
DraftKings = $7,000

The Timberwolves have been without Jimmy Butler (knee) for the last three games, leading to a major increase in production for Wiggins. In those three games, Wiggins averaged 31.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.0 three-pointers per game. He’s only averaging 15.9 shot attempts per game this season but averaged 22 shot attempts over those three contests. If Butler can’t go again Thursday, Wiggins is someone to strongly consider for your entry. Even if Butler does return, Wiggins can still be productive as the Timberwolves try to keep up with the Warriors high-powered offense.

Will Barton, DEN vs. NY
FanDuel = $6,500
DraftKings = $5,800

Barton has been in and out of the Nuggets starting lineup lately, starting four of the last six games. He’s been very productive as a member of the starting five this season, averaging 17.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.2 three-pointers in 12 games. His usage rate off the bench is actually 3% higher than it is when he starts, but he has averaged nine more minutes per game as a starter. He’s priced low enough to warrant consideration even if he comes off the bench Thursday, but he could have considerable upside if he does start.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Kevin Durant, GS vs. MIN
FanDuel = $10,500
DraftKings = $9,900

It’s not hard to make a case to start Durant any given night. Not only does his 30.1% usage rate rank inside the top-15 in the league, but he’s also averaging career-highs in assists (5.6) and blocks (2.1) per game. Even with a lot of offensive talent around him, Durant is averaging 25.9 points per game, which would mark the tenth straight season that he has averaged at least 25 points. The Timberwolves are struggling defensively right now, allowing an average of 109.6 points in their last seven games. Don’t expect them to be able to slow down Durant on Thursday.

Nemanja Bjelica, MIN at GS
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,500

Bjelica has started the last three games with Butler out, averaging 11.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.7 three-pointers per contest. Based on how much coach Tom Thibodeau plays his starters, it’s not surprising that Bjelica played at least 35 minutes in two of those games. If Butler is out again Thursday, there should be plenty of opportunities for Bjelica to provide value at this price. However, if Butler is cleared to play, Bjelica likely won’t see enough playing time to warrant using in your lineup. Make sure to monitor Butler’s status throughout the day.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Draymond Green, GS vs. MIN
FanDuel = $8,100
DraftKings – $7,500

Green takes a backseat offensively to the Warriors’ star scoring trio of Curry, Durant and Klay Thompson, but he still provides tremendous value due to his all-around contributions. Although he’s averaging just 11.3 points per game, he also has averages of 7.8 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks. He’s currently in the midst of one of his best stretches this season, averaging 15.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 7.3 assists and 1.0 blocks in his last 10 games. With his high floor, he makes for a viable option for your entry again Thursday.

Skal Labissiere, SAC at MIA
FanDuel = $5,600
DraftKings = $5,000

Labissiere is finally seeing consistent playing time with the Kings shifting focus to their young players, averaging 11.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 block in his last five games. In three of those five contests, he played at least 28 minutes. His price is rising on both sites, but he’s still priced low enough to provide value in this game.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks

Steven Adams, OKC vs. WAS
FanDuel = $7,300
DraftKings = $6,600

Adams is usually one of the safer center options because the Thunder have virtually no depth behind him. He gets plenty of playing time as a result and is averaging career-highs in points (13.7), rebounds (8.9) and steals (1.2) per game. With dominant offensive players around him in Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, Adams still finds a way to score in large part because he averages 5.1 offensive rebounds per game. He won’t kill your budget Thursday and has a relatively high floor based on his role on the team.

Enes Kanter, NY at DEN
FanDuel = $6,200
DraftKings = $6,000

The Knicks are slumping right now and have fallen four games out of the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. They might become sellers at the NBA trade deadline as a result, which could become interesting because of their depth at center. Kanter has been one of their bright spots at the position and has kept it rolling during their struggles, averaging 15.0 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists over his last four games. He should see plenty of playing time against a big Nuggets frontcourt Thursday, making him worth consideration for your entry.

In today’s article on Lineup Lab, we’ll dive into the slate even deeper and take a look at only the cheaper plays of the evening that can provide you with value.

POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

De’Aaron Fox, SAC at CLE
FanDuel = $5,000
DraftKings – $4,600

The Kings continue to throw out head-scratching rotations as no player on the team is averaging more than 26 minutes per game. The silver lining is Fox is one of three players averaging 26 minutes, so at least he gets more run than most. While not outstanding, his numbers are respectable this season as he’s averaging 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 0.9 steals per game. The Cavaliers have had their problems defending points guards this season, so Fox has the potential to be productive in this game.

Shaun Livingston, GS at CHA
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,400

The Warriors have lost star point guard Stephen Curry (ankle) for at least two weeks, leaving Patrick McCaw (nose) and Livingston to cover his minutes. McCaw has been ruled out for Wednesday’s game, leaving Livingston with a potentially big role against the Hornets. Livingston has only played at least 20 minutes in a game once this season, but he was productive with 16 points, two rebounds, six assists, and one steal. Take a chance on him Wednesday.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

E’Twaun Moore, NO vs. DEN
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,200

Moore is getting an excellent opportunity to thrive in New Orleans as he is averaging a career-high 31 minutes per game. He’s shown he can be an offensive weapon when given extended run as he is averaging 12.5 points and 1.7 three-pointers per game this season. He’s been even better of late though, scoring at least 16 points and hitting at least four three-pointers in four of his last five games. The Pelicans should be without Anthony Davis (groin) again Wednesday, leaving added shots on the table for Moore. The price is right to take a chance on him for your entry.

Malcolm Brogdon, MIL vs. DET
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,700

Speaking of frustrating rotations, Bucks coach Jason Kidd also throws out some perplexing combinations. He had played guard Jason Terry (calf) at least 18 minutes in three straight games entering Monday and it looked like it could have been four in a row had Terry not been injured in the contest. With Terry out Wednesday, Brogdon should pick up some of his minutes. With defenses having to focus on Giannis Antetokounmpo, Eric Bledsoe, and Khris Middleton, Brogdon might get a few more open looks in this game.

SMALL FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Bojan Bogdanovic, IND vs. CHI
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $4,800

Bogdanovic is quietly not only having the best season of his career, but he’s become a very valuable member of a Pacers team that has played better than many people expected. He’s getting an opportunity to produce as he is averaging career-highs in minutes (31) and shot attempts (10.9) per game. He’s been particularly lethal from behind the arc, shooting 44.5%. The Bulls really struggle defensively and are just a bad team in general at this point. Bogdanovic already scored 22 points and hit six three-pointers against them earlier this season, so another valuable performance may be in the works.

Dante Cunningham, NO vs. DEN
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $3,600

Cunningham has started the last two games with Anthony Davis (groin) on the shelf and has filled in admirably, averaging 9.5 points and 10.5 rebounds. He played 32 minutes in their last game Monday against the Warriors, marking only the fourth time this season that he has logged at least 30 minutes in a game. The Nuggets are also banged up with Paul Millsap (wrist) and Nikola Jokic (ankle) out, giving Cunningham a nice chance to provide value at a dirt cheap price.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Ersan Ilyasova, ATL at ORL
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $4,800

Injuries have already created added opportunity in Atlanta as several key members of the Hawks frontcourt will be out again Wednesday. Ilyasova showed what he can do with extended minutes as he scored 22 points and hit four-three pointers when he played 30 minutes in a game last week against the Cavaliers. While his last two games haven’t been great, he did just miss a double-double Saturday against the Nets. This could be a high-scoring game against a Magic team that plays at the sixth-fastest pace (102.8) in the league, so take a look at Ilyasova for your entry.

Bobby Portis, CHI at IND
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,700

Portis may be in for a reduction in play time soon as Nikola Mirotic (face) is getting close to returning. He’ll still be out Wednesday though, which is good news for Portis’ value. Portis provides an offensive punch off the bench for the Bulls as he has scored at least 10 points in four of his last six games. He had one of his best games earlier this season against these same Pacers when he scored 20 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Kris Dunn is actually the only player who plays significant minutes on the Bulls that has a higher usage rate than Portis’ 24.9%. As far as cheap options with upside go, Portis definitely makes the list Wednesday.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Mason Plumlee, DEN at NO
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $4,700

With Jokic injured, Plumlee has started both of the last two games for the Nuggets. While he only scored three points in his last game against the Dallas Mavericks, he showed his potential the prior game when he scored 12 points to go along with six rebounds and six assists Saturday against the Lakers. The Nuggets are going to need Plumlee to step up Wednesday against DeMarcus Cousins, so he could be in for significant minutes if he can stay out of foul trouble. With his passing ability, extended playing time could give him a big bump in value.

Bam Adebayo, MIA at SA
FanDuel = $4,500
DraftKings = $4,000

Noticing a trend here? It’s important to know which players are injured as their backups are usually priced cheap, but can provide excellent value when given an opportunity to play. Adebayo is another injury fill in as he’s playing more minutes with Hassan Whiteside (knee) sidelined. The Heat like to go small when they can with Whiteside out, but they likely won’t have that luxury Wednesday against a big Spurs front line. His upside isn’t that high, but he did record a double-double in 31 minutes earlier this season against the Timberwolves. If you’re filling out a tournament entry Wednesday, you might want to take a chance on Adebayo.
