POINT GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/22/18

Tomas Satoransky, WAS at CLE
FanDuel = $5,900
DraftKings = $5,500

Satoransky took over as the starting point guard when John Wall (knee) was injured, but Tim Frazier was still pushing him for playing time. Satoransky has separated himself from Frazier though, averaging 12.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.6 blocks in seven games in February. He also has a 16.4% usage rate this month, which is significantly higher than in any previous month this season. His price is starting to climb, but it’s still low enough to provide value Thursday.

Emmanuel Mudiay, NY at ORL
FanDuel = $4,600
DraftKings = $4,400

Mudiay is averaging 23 minutes in his first three games with the Knicks this season, five more than he was averaging with the Nuggets. While his numbers don’t jump off the page, he is averaging a respectable 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and one steal with his new squad. The good news is the Knicks said they are going to give Mudiay more minutes down the stretch, which could provide a significant boost to his value. The Magic allow the most points on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing point guards, making Mudiay someone to consider at this cheap price.

SHOOTING GUARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/22/18

Bogdan Bogdanovic, SAC vs. OKC

DraftKings = $5,600

Bogdanovic was playing well heading into the All-Star break, averaging 15.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.6 three-pointers in his last five games. The Kings are already giving their young players more playing time, resulting in Bogdanovic averaging at least 30 minutes per game in both January and February. The Thunder are tough defensively, but Bogdanovic’s ability to contribute in multiple categories still makes him a viable option Thursday.

Rodney Hood, CLE vs. WAS
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,900

Hood hasn’t played more than 24 minutes in either of his first two games with the Cavaliers, but he shot a combined 7-for-14 from behind the arc in those contests. He won’t have as significant of a role as he did on the Jazz, but he can still provide an offensive spark off the bench with his ability to hit three’s. There aren’t a lot of great cheap options at shooting guard Thursday, especially on FanDuel. Hood’s ability to get hot even in limited playing time makes with worth considering at this price.

SMALL FORWARDS

Allen Crabbe, BKN at CHA

DraftKings = $5,300

A lot of teams got healthy during the break, but the Nets weren’t one of them. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (groin) and Caris LeVert (knee) will both be out Thursday, marking the fifth straight game that both of them will miss. Crabbe thrived in the first four contests, averaging 25.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.3 three-pointers. The Nets play at the sixth-fastest pace (101 possessions per game) in the league, which should leave him with plenty of opportunities to produce again Thursday.

David Nwaba, CHI vs. PHI
FanDuel = $3,500
DraftKings = $3,500

The Bulls are not good by any stretch of the imagination, but it is surprising that they have already won 20 games this year. They didn’t deal away many veterans at the trade deadline but have made the decision to play their young players more starting Thursday. As a result, Nwaba will move into the starting lineup. Nwaba has played at least 30 minutes in a game six times this season, averaging 12.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.2 blocks in those contests. He doesn’t have great upside, but when you combine added minutes with the fact that the Sixers play at the fifth-fastest pace (101.6) in the league, you get a viable option at a very cheap price.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers Lineup Picks for 2/22/18

Larry Nance Jr., CLE vs. WAS
FanDuel = $5,600
DraftKings = $4,800

Nance played 25 minutes in the last game before the break, finishing with 13 points, nine rebounds, one steal and two blocks. Expect his playing time to increase closer to 30 minutes per game down the stretch, especially until Kevin Love (hand) returns. He’s already a threat to record a double-double on a nightly basis, which is significant value for someone in this price range. Don’t hesitate to add him to your lineup Thursday.

Quincy Acy, BKN at CHA
FanDuel = $3,800
DraftKings = $4,100

With Hollis-Jefferson and LeVert sidelined, Acy has played at least 31 minutes in three of the last four games. His numbers aren’t flashy, but he did average 8.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.0 three-pointers in those three contests. The Nets don’t have a lot of depth left up front, so expect Acy to see significant playing time again Thursday. If you want to go really cheap at power forward in tournament play, he might be worth the risk.

CENTERS

Jarrett Allen, BKN at CHA

DraftKings = $4,900

Allen started off February strong, averaging 15.8 points and 7.0 rebounds in his first four games. He’s taken a bit of a step back offensively since, averaging just 8.7 points in his last three games. These are the kind of inconsistencies you tend to see from a lot of rookies, so Allen is certainly not a reliable option. If he was though, he won’t be priced this low. The key is he has shown he can provide upside, making him someone worth considering for your entry.

Cristiano Felicio, CHI vs. PHI
FanDuel = $3,500
DraftKings = $3,000

Like Nwaba, Felicio is going to shift into the starting lineup Thursday. He signed a four-year contract over the summer after showing promising signs last year but was a disaster to start this season. He quickly fell out of the rotation, but the Bulls have nothing to play for at this point other than a high pick in the draft. Cheap centers are not easy to find, especially on a day with only six games. If you are playing in a tournament and want to go very cheap at the position, Felicio’s starting role at least brings him into the conversation. A final line somewhere around six points and eight rebounds with one block seems like a reasonable expectation.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 19

It’s important to know the intricacies of the NBA schedule to gain an advantage over your opponent in a head-to-head fantasy league as starting your best players might not always give you the best chance to win. Here are some moves you might want to consider for your team based on the week ahead.

Teams With The Most Games – 3 Games Each
Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards

The NBA has a short week due to the All-Star break, but players on the four teams that play three games each can give you a significant edge. Consider adding the players below who are still available in the majority of leagues.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 19

Larry Nance Jr., Cleveland Cavaliers

Nance has only averaged 23 minutes in his first two games with the Cavaliers but has had an immediate impact, averaging 9.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, one steal and one block. He was one rebound shy of posting a double-double in his second game and should continue to get more playing time as he gets acclimated to his new teammates. The Cavaliers have very little depth up front with Kevin Love (hand) out, furthering their need for Nance to become a significant contributor quickly. He’s still available in 51% of Yahoo! leagues and could be a valuable addition to your lineup this week.

Tomas Satoransky, Washington Wizards

The Wizards were dealt a significant blow when John Wall (knee) was injured, but Satoransky has stepped up in his absence to be a valuable fantasy contributor. In seven games in February, Satoransky is averaging 12.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.6 three-pointers. This week he faces a Sixers team that plays at the fifth-fastest pace (101.6 possessions per game) in the league, a Cavaliers team that allows the fourth-most points per game (110) in the league and a bad Hornets squad. He’s still available in 70% of Yahoo! leagues and is an excellent option if you need a point guard.

T.J. McConnell, Philadelphia 76ers

McConnell’s production is very much hit or miss. In two of his last four games, he had at least 10 points, eight assists and two steals in each contest. In the other two games, he had four points, five assists and one steal combined. The good news is the Sixers have a great schedule this week, playing the Bulls, Magic, and Wizards. The Bulls and Magic are two of the worst teams in the league at defending opposing point guards and the Wizards are without their best player at the position. McConnell is a bit risky, but he has upside with the added games. He’s still available in 87% of Yahoo! leagues and is someone to consider adding.

Teams With The Fewest Games – 1 Game Each
Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors

With just four teams playing one game each this week, you could be at a significant disadvantage if you have any of those players on your team. Consider benching the players below who you might otherwise have in your starting lineup as a result.

NBA Fantasy Basketball Schedule Analysis for Week 19

Myles Turner, Indiana Pacers

Turner has been a disappoint this season, averaging only 13.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. He’s still providing a lot of blocks, but he doesn’t record many steals and is shooting a career-low 48.8% from the field. With just six double-doubles this season, it will be tough to get enough production from him during a one-game week. Put him on your bench until the schedule swings back in his favor with four games in Week 20.

Dennis Schroder, Atlanta Hawks

Schroder is the best player on the rebuilding Hawks, resulting in a 30.4% usage rate that ranks inside the top-10 in the league. He hasn’t been outstanding outside of scoring though, averaging 3.1 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.1 steals this season. Based on his inability to contribute across the board, it’s hard to justify starting him on your squad with only one game this week.

Spencer Dinwiddie, Brooklyn Nets

Fantasy owners aren’t going to complain about the production they have received from Dinwiddie this season. He’s averaging career-highs across the board with 13.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.9 three-pointers per game. He continues to hold onto a starting role even with D’Angelo Russell finally healthy. His overall numbers carry value, but not enough in a week with just one game. Put him on your bench for now, but take solace in the fact that the Nets play four games in Week 20.

Jeff Teague, MIN at CLE
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $5,700

Teague has not been good offensively lately, scoring nine points or less in four of his last five games. He doesn’t provide many rebounds either, leaving him with limited upside when he struggles to score. The good news is he gets to face the Cavaliers on Wednesday, who have been horrible defensively. They have been particularly poor defending points guards, allowing the second-most points per game on FanDuel and the third-most points per game on DraftKings to the position. It might be worth the risk that he rebounds offensively in this game based on his price.

Tyler Ulis, PHO vs. SA
FanDuel =$4,400
DraftKings = $4,400

Ulis started with Devin Booker (hip) injured Tuesday, scoring eight points to go along with seven assists and one rebound. The key is he played 30 minutes in the game. He has played at least 30 minutes in a game nine times this season, averaging 10.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.7 steals per contest. Booker is not expected to play again Wednesday, so the volume of playing time alone makes Ulis someone worth considering for your entry.

SHOOTING GUARDS

Danny Green, SA at PHO
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,900

Green has struggled with his shot this season, shooting only 39.7% from the field. That would actually mark his third-straight season shooting under 40%. He’s made up for his offensive deficiencies lately though, averaging 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.0 blocks in his last three games. In his first meeting with the Suns this season, Green scored 14 points to go along with two rebounds, two assists, one steal and two three-pointers. The Suns allow the most points per game (112.2) in the league, so Green might be worth the risk at this cheap price.

Wayne Ellington, MIA vs. HOU
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,300

The Heat have suffered a lot of injuries this season, but their health has improved of late. As a result, Ellington has played 29 minutes or less in three of his last five games. The majority of his value comes from his ability to score and hit three-pointers, so limited playing time is going to hinder his value. However, he could see a few extra minutes Wednesday as the Rockets like to use a lot of small lineups. The Rockets also play at the ninth-fastest pace (100.7 possessions per game) in the league, so Ellington might be someone to take a chance on in tournament play.

SMALL FORWARDS

Bojan Bogdanovic, IND at NO
FanDuel = $5,800
DraftKings = $5,200

Bogdanovic has scored at least 18 points in four straight games, shooting 53.8% from behind the arc during that stretch. He’s not always one of the Pacers primary scoring options, but he can put up points in a hurry when he gets in a groove. Wednesday brings a favorable matchup against the Pelicans who allow the second-most points per game (111.1) and play at the fourth-fastest pace (101.8) in the league, giving Bogdanovic excellent upside.

Reggie Bullock, DET vs. BKN
FanDuel = $4,700
DraftKings = $4,600

Bullock has seen an increase in playing time since the Pistons big trade with the Clippers, logging at least 34 minutes in three straight games. He’s an excellent three-point shooter, hitting 7-of-16 shots from behind the arc during that stretch. The Nets play at the sixth-fastest pace (101.1) in the league, which is a plus for Bullock when you factor in his increased playing time. Although he might not provide much outside of scoring, Bullock is still priced low enough to warrant consideration Wednesday.

POWER FORWARDS

Thaddeus Young, IND at NO
FanDuel = $5,900
DraftKings = $5,500

Young may not put up flashy numbers, but he’s averaging 12.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals in his last six games. It’s important to note that he played at least 34 minutes in four of those six contests. The heavy minutes could mean added opportunities to produce Wednesday with the Pelicans struggles on defense and their up-tempo style of play. The Pelicans allow the third-most points per game on DraftKings and the fourth-most points per game on FanDuel to opposing power forwards, making Young a viable option for your lineup.

Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, HOU at MIA
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,000

Mbah a Moute has been getting a lot of playing time for the Rockets lately, logging at least 35 minutes in three of his last four games. With Trevor Ariza (hamstring) out and Ryan Anderson (ankle) questionable for Wednesday, Mbah a Moute should see plenty of action again in this game. His limited offensive skills don’t leave him with great upside, but he could contribute enough across the board to be worth consideration at this cheap price.

CENTERS

Jarrett Allen, BKN at DET

DraftKings = $5,100

Allen has taken over as the starting center for the Nets and that should continue moving forward, especially since they just traded Tyler Zeller to the Bucks. In five starts this season, Allen is averaging 15.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest. He’s playing just 24 minutes per game as a starter and doesn’t provide great defensive numbers, but he can still provide value on a night like Wednesday with only six games on the schedule.

Bam Adebayo, MIA vs. HOU
FanDuel = $4,200
DraftKings = $4,700

The Heat have been limiting Hassan Whiteside’s playing time, especially late in games. Adebayo has been one of the primary beneficiaries of that move, logging at least 24 minutes in three straight games. He’s made the most of the opportunity, recording a double-double in two of those games. This isn’t a great matchup against a Rockets team that likes to play small, but the Heat may be forced to give Adebayo plenty of playing time if Kelly Olynyk (shoulder) is unable to play. Keep your eye on Olynyk’s status throughout the day and if he is indeed ruled out, Adebayo is a viable option in tournament play.

Ricky Rubio, UTA at PHO

DraftKings = $6,200

Rubio’s first season with the Jazz has been a struggle, resulting in him averaging a career-low 5.0 assists per game. His overall numbers lately have been better though, averaging 13.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.2 steals in his last six games. Friday brings an excellent matchup against the Suns who play at the third-fastest pace (102.1 possessions per game) and allow the most points per game (111.8) in the league. You shouldn’t expect Rubio to put up a ton of points, but he can contribute enough across the board to provide value.

De’Aaron Fox, SAC vs. GS

DraftKings = $5,900

Fox had possibly his best month of the season in January, averaging 14.1 points, 2.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.2 three-pointers in 14 games. It’s no coincidence that he averaged 30 minutes per game during the month, which is at least three minutes more per contest than any of the previous three months. With the Kings declaring they are going to give their young players more minutes, this is a trend that should continue for Fox down the stretch. With added opportunities to produce against a Warriors team that plays at the second-fastest pace (102.4) in the league Friday, Fox is worth consideration for your entry.

SHOOTING GUARDS

Nicolas Batum, CHA vs. IND
FanDuel = $6,100
DraftKings = $6,400

Batum has always had the ability to contribute excellent all-around numbers, but he’s struggled to adjust to an elbow injury and the addition of Dwight Howard for much of this season. However, he’s showing signs of coming out of his funk, even posting a triple-double Wednesday against the Hawks. He also played well against these same Pacers on Monday, scoring 22 points to go along with four rebounds, two assists, and five three-pointers. He’s played at least 34 minutes in three straight games, which is great news considering he’s more of a stat compiler as opposed to excelling in any one category. His price is climbing, but it’s still low enough to make him a viable option Friday.

Tony Snell, MIL vs. NY
FanDuel = $4,000
DraftKings = #3,700

This could be an ugly game for the Bucks. Eric Bledsoe (ankle) was unable to play Thursday against the Timberwolves and Malcolm Brogdon (quad) also suffered an injury that should keep him out Friday at the very least. To make matters worse, Giannis Antetokounmpo twisted his ankle late in the game. If all three players are ruled out Friday, Snell is going to see a significant increase in playing time. Even if Bledsoe is able to return, Snell should play a lot if both Brogdon and Giannis can’t take the floor. Keep an eye on the Bucks’ injury updates leading up to this game because even though Snell is not a great offensive player, the added minutes alone can give him value at this dirt cheap price.

SMALL FORWARDS

DeMarre Carroll, BKN vs. LAL

DraftKings = $5,800

The Nets will continue to be thin up front Friday with Ronda Hollis-Jefferson (groin) still out. In the last three games that Hollis-Jefferson has missed, Carroll is averaging 13.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.7 three-pointers per contest. He doesn’t have a ton of scoring upside, but he does have a favorable matchup against the Lakers who play at the fastest pace (103.2) and are tied for the third-most points allowed per game (110.3) in the league. At this reasonable price, Carroll is worth consideration.

Josh Jackson, PHO vs. UTA
FanDuel = $5,300
DraftKings = $5,200

Jackson is starting to see more consistent playing time, logging at least 28 minutes in three of the last four games. He’s made the most of his opportunity, averaging 19.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.3 three-pointers in those three contests. The Suns just lost Isaiah Canaan (ankle) for the season, which should also help free up some minutes for Jackson. He has excellent upside, making him someone to strongly consider for your entry.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

Thaddeus Young, IND at CHA
FanDuel = $6,200
DraftKings = $5,700

Young is getting plenty of playing time for the Pacers, logging at least 35 minutes in seven of his last nine games. He doesn’t always score a lot, but he has managed to produce at least 16 points in three of his last five games. He’s also provided a boost in value with his defensive contributions, recording at least two steals in seven of his last eight games. The Hornets don’t have much depth at power forward with Marvin Williams (ankle) out, leaving Young with an opportunity to provide value Friday.

John Henson, MIL vs. NY
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $4,800

Henson doesn’t put up crazy numbers, but the Bucks have very little talent at center, leaving him with extended playing time.  He’s not only scored at least 10 points in seven straight games, but he is also averaging 6.4 rebounds during that stretch. The Knicks have a lot of size up front, likely leaving Henson with another significant role Friday. His upside isn’t that high, but that doesn’t mean he’s not someone to consider at this cheap price. Of note, Henson is only power forward eligible on FanDuel as he is eligible only at center on DraftKings.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Sleepers

Julius Randle, LAL at BKN
FanDuel = $6,600
DraftKings = $6,700

Randle enters Friday averaging 18.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in his last five games. Brook Lopez has logged 15 minutes or less in three of those five contests, leaving Randle with added playing time. Randle has the third-highest usage rate (24.7%) on the team, so the added playing time is significant for his upside. The Nets allow the most points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing centers, so don’t hesitate to play Randle.

Jahlil Okafor, BKN vs. LAL
FanDuel = $4,000
DraftKings = $3,800

After playing at least 24 minutes in back-to-back games, Okafor took a back seat to Jarrett Allen on Wednesday, playing just 14 minutes. Although Allen played well in that game, he too has been inconsistent this season. Okafor actually has a 20.5% usage rate since being traded to the Nets, so he does have upside when he gets playing time. It’s tough to go with a player in an uncertain role like Okafor’s, but he might be worth the risk if you are looking for a really cheap center.

The Cavaliers suffered a significant loss Tuesday when Kevin Love went down with a hand injury. He was averaging 17.9 points per game this season, now leaving a big hole in their offense. Thomas is never one to shy away from extra shot attempts and already has the second-highest usage rate (29.5%) on the team. While Thomas leaves a lot to be desired defensively, his offensive skills are impressive. The price is right to take a chance on him for your entry Wednesday.

Terry Rozier, BOS vs. NY

DraftKings = $5,300

Marcus Smart (hand) has missed the last three games for the Celtics, leaving Rozier with a more significant role off the bench. While his numbers weren’t off the charts, he averaged a respectable 10.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.7 three-pointers in those three contests. Wednesday brings a favorable matchup against the Knicks who have struggled to defend opposing point guards this season. His upside may not be as high as Thomas’, but his ability to contribute in multiple categories still makes him a viable option.

He’s had a few big offensive games lately, scoring at least 19 points in three of his last six contests. He also played well against these same Hawks last week, finishing with 19 points, four rebounds, eight assists and three three-pointers. If his shot is falling again Wednesday, he could provide significant value when combined with his ability to contribute both rebounds and assists.

Wade played 28 minutes Tuesday against the Pistons, the most playing time he has seen in a game in over a month. He took advantage of the opportunity, scoring 18 points to go along with eight rebounds and five assists. The Cavaliers have taken a cautious approach with his minutes this season, but they might need him to play more now with Love out of action. He might have some extra motivation facing his former team Wednesday as well, so he could be in line for a valuable performance.

The Nets have dealt with a lot of injuries, but Carroll has played in 46 of their 51 games. He’s not showing any signs of slowing down, averaging 14.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.8 three-pointers in January. The Sixers and Nets are both in the top-five in the league in pace of play, which could result in added production from Carroll on Wednesday.

Although Valentine has shifted to the bench with Zach LaVine finally healthy, he’s still logged at least 30 minutes in three of his last four games. LaVine is still on a minutes restriction, so Valentine should see similar playing time until that is lifted. The Bulls might really need Valentine to provide an offensive spark Wednesday with Lauri Markkanen (personal) out and Nikola Mirotic (leg) listed as questionable. Valentine is more than just a scorer though, averaging 4.7 assists in his last six games. He could be in line for one of his better performances of the season.

James Ennis III (calf) and Chandler Parsons (knee) have already been ruled out for Wednesday while JaMychal Green (ankle) is doubtful and Dillon Brooks (knee), Mario Chalmers (hamstring), Deyonta Davis (knee) and Ben McLemore (knee) are all listed as questionable. With so few healthy options, Martin should get plenty of playing time in this game. He has played at least 30 minutes in a game six times this season, averaging 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.2 three-pointers in those contests. Don’t hesitate to take a chance on him again Wednesday.

If both Markkanen and Mirotic don’t play Wednesday, Portis is going to be in line for huge minutes. Even is Mirotic does manage to play, Portis should still see a jump in playing time with Markkanen sidelined. Portis has the second-highest usage rate (25.9%) on the team, so the added playing time should give him a significant boost in value. While Portis should provide value on both sites, he could really outproduce his dirt cheap price on FanDuel.

Turner was excellent in his second game back from an elbow injury Monday, scoring 22 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists and one block in just 21 minutes. He looks to be rounding back into form and is reportedly likely to rejoin the starting five Wednesday. It won’t be a cake walk considering the Grizzlies allow the fewest points per game on both FanDuel and DraftKings to opposing centers, but it’s not too often you’ll see Turner priced this low. This might be the time to take advantage of the opportunity.

Jahlil Okafor, BKN vs. PHI

The Nets started Jarrett Allen at center for the first time this season Tuesday, but Okafor still managed to play 25 minutes off the bench. He’s actually played at least 24 minutes in back-to-back contests, averaging 13.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.0 block. Tyler Zeller didn’t play at all Tuesday, so it appears the Nets want to give Allen and Okafor extended looks for the time being. Okafor has the higher upside between the two and might be worth taking a chance on if you want to try a very cheap center in tournament play.

In order to fit them in though, you need to find those cheaper value plays, or “sleepers” if you will, to help you bring home some money. Consider using the players below to hopefully end your night a winner.

Rubio has seen his assists drop off dramatically in his first season with the Jazz, averaging only 4.8 per game. His previous career low was 7.3 in the 2012-13 season and he had averaged a career-high 9.1 per game with the Timberwolves last year. However, he’s showing signs of his all-around game improving lately, averaging 13.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.6 three-pointers in his last five games. He’s still averaging 29 minutes per game this season, so he’ll likely have the ball in his hands enough to provide value Friday.

Malcolm Delaney, ATL vs. BKN

The rebuilding Hawks don’t have much depth, which has led to Delaney averaging a career-high 19 minutes per game this season. He’s coming off back-to-back solid performances against the Clippers and Nuggets where he averaged 9.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game. This has the makings of a promising matchup against a Nets team that deploys a lot of small lineups and plays at the fifth-fastest pace (102.4 possessions per game) in the league. His upside is limited at best, but he can provide value at this extremely cheap price.

He has played well in the last three starts though, averaging 12.0 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest. The Warriors play at the fourth-fastest-pace (102.7) in the league and use a lot of small lineups, leaving Brogdon with an opportunity to shine in this game.

Caris LeVert, BKN at ATL

LeVert has done an excellent job helping run the offense with all of the Nets injuries this year, averaging 4.2 assists per game. Before missing two games with a groin injury, LeVert had at least 12 points, five rebounds, and seven assists in four straight games. He hasn’t played as well in two games since returning, but it shows what kind of upside he can provide. In his last game against the Hawks, LeVert scored 17 points to go along with two rebounds, six assists, and two steals. He is someone you should consider for your entry again Friday.

Friday brings an excellent matchup against the Suns who play at the third-fastest pace (102.8) and allow the most points per game (112.1) in the league. Look for Green to score plenty in this game.

While Green’s value comes from his ability to score, Ingles’ comes from his ability to contribute across the board. He’s averaging 31 minutes per game this season, which has led to career-highs almost across the board. The Hornets allow the second-most DraftKings points per game and the third-most FanDuel points per game to opposing small forwards, making Ingles someone to consider for this game.

One of the keys to his performance was that he played 34 minutes. He has played at least 30 minutes in a game 10 times this season, averaging 12.7 points and 7.6 rebounds in those contests. He could be in store for added minutes again Friday with the Nuggets going big with both Nikola Jokic and Mason Plumlee in their starting five. The Nuggets allow the fifth-most DraftKings points per game and the sixth-most FanDuel points per game to opposing power forwards, leaving Green as a nice option.

Dragan Bender, PHO vs. HOU

Bender will move into the starting lineup Friday with Marquese Chriss (hip) already ruled out. Chriss also left early in the Suns last game Monday against the Thunder due to the same injury. As a result, Bender ended up playing 39 minutes. He did not let the added minutes go to waste, scoring 20 points to go along with six rebounds, four assists, one steal, three blocks and a staggering six three-pointers. This has the makings of a great matchup as both the Suns and the Rockets are in the top-eight in the league in terms of pace of play. At this price, Bender could be the best value play of the night.

Finding cheap center options can be difficult, especially on FanDuel where there is no position flexibility. That being said, Plumlee should be able to average enough across the board to present a viable option.

Marcin Gortat, WAS vs. ORL

Gortat had averaged at least 30 minutes per game in each of the last six seasons but has seen his role change this year. He enters Friday averaging just 27 minutes per game, playing at least 30 minutes in a game only three times in his last 20 contests. His numbers have declined as you would have expected, but he’s still averaged a respectable 9.1 points and 8.1 rebounds. Friday brings a favorable matchup against a Magic team that struggles to defend the center position, so Gortat could be productive even in limited minutes.

If you could guarantee he’d see that much playing time again Wednesday, he’d be a virtual lock for your lineup. Even if he sees fewer minutes in this game, he can still provide value at this price based on his 28.8% usage rate.

Napier excelled filling in for the injured Damian Lillard (calf) on Tuesday against the Thunder, scoring 21 points to go along with five rebounds, two assists, and two three-pointers. Lillard’s status is uncertain for Wednesday, so keep an eye out for updates as the day progresses. If he is out again, make sure to get Napier in your entry, especially on FanDuel with his extremely cheap price.

The Heat have dealt with a lot of injuries this season, leaving Ellington to play at least 31 minutes in 10 of his last 11 games. The Heat will be shorthanded again Wednesday with Justise Winslow (knee) and Dion Waiters (ankle) out. Not only that but Tyler Johnson (shoulder) didn’t play Tuesday and James Johnson could be suspended for throwing a punch in that same game. Sabonis has played at least 30 minutes in a game five times this season, averaging 19.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in those contests. If Turner ultimately can’t go, Sabonis would be primed for a big game.

Morris is off to a slow start this season, mainly because he is averaging only 25 minutes per game. He’s seen increased playing time lately, logging at least 30 minutes in four of his last six games. The Jazz don’t have much size up front, which could lead to another potential double-double for Morris on Wednesday. If you are playing in a tournament, he’s a viable option based on his upside.

He played very well in his first three games against the Timberwolves this season, averaging 21.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest. He’s priced low enough to take a chance on him making it four straight big games against them.

Mason Plumlee, DEN vs. ATL

The Nuggets made a change in the beginning of December by adding Plumlee to the starting lineup and he has started 18 of the last 19 games since. The key is he is averaging seven more minutes per game as a starter than he did coming off the bench. With the Hawks lacking talent up front, Plumlee could approach a double-double again in this game. He won’t cost you much, making him someone to consider if you want to go really cheap at center.

Though Frank Ntilikina is making strides in his rookie season, Jack is still getting enough minutes to be a viable option Wednesday.

Crabbe is already averaging 29 minutes per game this season but could be counted on for heavy minutes if both LeVert and Carroll sit out this game. Even if one of them is able to play, Crabbe still has value, averaging 11.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 three-pointers over his last nine games. Of note, Crabbe is only shooting guard eligible on DraftKings. He is listed at small forward on FanDuel.

Anderson has played at least 30 minutes in a game eight times this season, averaging 9.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals in those games. An added bonus is that he gets to face the Sixers, who play at the second-fastest pace (103.3) in the league. The stars may be aligning for Anderson in this contest.

If LeVert and/or Carroll are unable to play Wednesday, Harris would likely be one of the main beneficiaries of their minutes.  Keep an eye on their status throughout the day and get Harris into your lineup if they can’t go.

The Knicks score the tenth-fewest points per game (103.3) in the league, so they need Beasley’s offense. Don’t be surprised if he gets another opportunity to provide value Wednesday.

The Suns have been one of the most frustrating teams in the league this season when it comes to their frontcourt rotations, especially at center. They appear to have finally started to settle things down, holding out Greg Monroe for each of the last five games. Chriss has thrived at power forward over those five games, averaging 12.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 27 minutes per game. He gets a nice matchup Wednesday as the Nuggets allow the eighth-most points per game on FanDuel and the ninth-most points per game on DraftKings to opposing power forwards. As long as the minutes are there again, he could be one of the better value plays of the night.

Valanciunas has dominated the Bulls this season, averaging 22.0 points and 12.5 rebounds in their first two games. The key was he played at least 24 minutes in both contests. He should get added minutes matching up against Robin Lopez, making him an excellent option for your entry.

Richaun Holmes, PHI vs. SA

Sixers center Joel Embiid (hand) is listed as doubtful Wednesday, leaving Holmes with an opportunity for added playing time. The Sixers are always cautious with Embiid, which is not good for his chances of playing in this game. In the last seven games Embiid has missed, Holmes has averaged 11.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per contest. The Spurs have a lot of size up front, so expect the Sixers to lean heavily on Holmes if Embiid doesn’t suit up. While I prefer to go with Valanciunas, Holmes is also a viable cheap option at center.

With Isaiah Thomasa returning tonight, you can throw out whatever DVP the Cavs have run against PG’s. It will all change now and is up in the air. Isaiah has been one of the worst defenders in the league for a couple years now and I don’t see him helping at all. Napier is still cheap enough in all formats if starting and would be one of the more popular options on the slate. Once again, if Lillard is ruled in, this is all null and void. Lillard has been ruled out. Shabazz away!

 

George Hill
FD $4,700 DK $4,600
The Kings have been running a 3 point guard rotation for most of the year now, but might run into some issues tonight. As we sit, Frank Mason is out and DeAaron Fox is questionable. If Fox ends up being ruled out, George Hill should get to 28 minutes as a minimum. He’d be the only healthy PG on the roster and match-up quite nicely with Kemba Walker. Hill has obviously been very disappointing this year, but has shown some flashes of upside and can still produce in big minutes. His price is extremely low on both sites and he’ll only need you around 20-22 in cash games to hit value. There are a lot of other ways to pay up on this slate and PG probably isn’t the best. You can definitely go Kemba or Schroder in tournaments, but don’t know if it’s at all the optimal play. Save some funds instead with Napier/Hill move onto a position with some more depth.

Shooting Guard

Tyreke Evans
FD $9,000 DK $8,200

It’s 2017 and Tyreke Evans is just now realizing his full potential. It may actually be the NBA who was a step behind here, but nonetheless, this is a superstar who’s finally getting the opportunity. He’s sitting over 40 fantasy points in every game and has hit 60 a couple times. The ball is in his hands every possession down the stretch and will rarely not be involved in the final play with Conley out, whether it be a shot attempt or assist. It’s how he’s able to convert with such consistency on a team that lacks PACE and possessions. He’s going to shoot close to 20 times at the very least and stuffs the stat sheet like nobody else at the position. The Clippers rank 25th in the NBA against SG’s and especially struggle with size. Evans is one of the bigger guards in the world and will cause problems for anyone who tries to guard him. This game will stay close and Evans will be in there for 30+ minutes. He’s a safe play in all formats, though he’ll cost you a solid penny.

Kent Bazemore
FD $5,800 DK $6,000

Bazemore never sees huge minutes anymore, but it’s worked into his price tag. He still does damage in his 25-30 minutes and has put up 45+ fantasy points plenty of times around just 30 minutes. He’s one of the few consistent pieces the Hawks can actually trust and have built-in minutes for him. The match-up against the fast-paced Suns squad is obviously a great one. While they don’t rank dead last against SG’s like they have for most of the year, 27th isn’t all that much better. They play fast and have nobody to cover the rim, so it doesn’t matter how good the perimeter defense is. Bazemore is a safe better for 25 fantasy points with the realistic upside for 40. He’s viable in all formats at a very friendly price tag.

Small Forward

LeBron James
FD $11,500 DK $11,700

By default, LeBron is close to a must in all formats. While there are some other high-priced options, LBJ is the only real superstar. He could easily outscore the field by 20 and nobody would bat an eye. LeBron is truly match-up proof, so relies a lot more on the PACE and importance of game. The Blazers play slightly faster than league average and are considered a powerhouse, so I personally expect a big LeBron game. It’ll likely be a combo of Aminu and Turner on him, but it obviously doesn’t matter. He’s going to dominate both of them if his shot is falling and will settle for 50 FP if not. He’ll be in 100% of my lineups and while he’s nowhere near a must, I don’t think he’s an optimal fade with the options on the slate.

Kawhi Leonard
FD $7,500 DK $6,700

Kawhi played 26 and 27 minutes in his last 2 games, so things are getting a little serious. Let’s say there’s no progression. He sits around 26-28 minutes against a Knicks squad that doesn’t play any defense. As I see it, he has a 25 FP floor with a ceiling in the 40s. If he starts, the ball is in his hands all game and the usage is as concrete as it gets. His price is under $8k on both sites and doesn’t need to get you anywhere near his normal production. He is listed as probable right now, so just make sure nothing weird happened before you plug him in. I think there will be some hesitancy to play an expensive guy on a minutes limit, which will hopefully keep his ownership under 20%.

Power Forward

John Collins
FD $5,900 DK $4,900

Power forward is ugly. Kristaps Porzingis and LaMarcus Aldridge will face off as the only 2 expensive options and I don’t love either. Instead, let’s move down to the low/mid range to John Collins. Collins is an extremely talented player and a guy that would be putting up 35+ a night if given the minutes. His playing time has been tempered since returning from injury, but he still sees a consistent 25. The Suns play fast and don’t play much defense under the rim, which plays right into the game of Collins. His minutes are always going to be a concern, but find me a better option at the position and I’ll listen. This is a game you want exposure to and Collins gives you an affordable way to do it.

Jarell Martin
FD $4,200 DK $4,300

We haven’t looked at a punt option since PG with George Hill, so here is a solid one. Even with JaMychal Green back,  Jarell Martin is seeing 24+ minutes. He’s been effective when on the floor and the Grizz can’t just stuff him back onto the bench. He’s close to minimum price on both sites and will only need you 20 fantasy points to hit value. He matches up well with the athleticism of Blake Griffin and could end up seeing extended minutes because of it. The Clippers are a bottom 10 defensive team down low and are very easy to score FP against. Martin is a guy who’s very active when on the floor and does a good job of forcing his involvement. He puts up FP with ease and has a very friendly match-up tonight. He’s not a guy who will ever get you 35+ fantasy points, but somewhere between 20 and 30 is very likely and at his price that’s more than enough.

Center

Kevin Love
FD $7,900 DK $8,700

Center has a lot of similar options in the same price range. Kevin Love is easily my favorite in a game that should remain close against Portland. He has been superb this season as a whole and will very rarely fall below 35 fantasy points. His upside is always around 60 if he gets hot and this is a top 10 match-up for him. Jusuf Nurkic is a load in the paint, but can’t play any perimeter defense and isn’t a good rebounder. Love can be penciled in for a double/double with the upside for a lot more. His price is fair on both sites and will only need to have a “good” game to get it done.


Tyson Chandler
FD $4,500 DK $4,400

If you want to pay down at Center, Tyson Chandler is a very strong pivot. At $4500, he’s been at 30 minutes and 20 fantasy points in 2 straight games. If he once again gets the start, it’s safe to assume he runs for 25+ minutes against one of the league’s weakest interiors. With Dedmon out, it’s John Collins and Miles Plumlee at the 5. Chandler is no maestro at the 5 anymore, but he can get a double/double if given the opportunity. Especially against a team who can’t rebound and allows the 3rd most offensive rebounds. I prefer Love if you have the funds, but Chandler makes for a safe play under $5k and will let you pay up elsewhere. Center has a lot of options, but none of them are musts and Chandler shouldn’t be more than 15% owned. Either of these guys can be played in all formats, but know that Chandler has a ceiling around 35.

Friday’s schedule in the NBA is packed with nine games, giving you plenty of options for your DFS entry. Let’s take a deep dive and look at only the cheaper value plays that could help make you a winner.

POINT GUARDS

Tyler Johnson, MIA vs. BKN
FanDuel = $5,900
DraftKings = $6,000

The Heat have been one of the most injured teams in the league of late, leaving Johnson to average 36 minutes over his last five games. He hasn’t let that opportunity go to waste, averaging 16.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.0 three-pointer per game. While Goran Dragic is back healthy, now the Heat have lost Dion Waiters (ankle). The Nets play at the fourth-fastest pace (102.8) in the league, leaving Johnson with the potential to provide excellent value Friday.

J.J. Barea, DAL at NO
FanDuel = $5,200
DraftKings = $4,900

Although Barea is only averaging 23 minutes per game off the bench for the Mavericks this season, he is still averaging a career-high 12 points per game. The main reason for that has been his 25.8% usage rate, which is second highest on the team. Barea should have added chances to score Friday as not only do the Pelicans play at the seventh-fastest pace (101.9) in the league, but they also allow the second-most points per game (110.9). The price is right to take a chance on him in tournament play.

SHOOTING GUARDS

Wayne Ellington, MIA vs. BKN

DraftKings = $4,700

Ellington is another player benefiting from the rash of injuries on the Heat, playing at least 32 minutes in five straight games. He’s been lethal from behind the arc, shooting 20-for-44 (45.5%) during that stretch. Scoring hasn’t been his only contribution to the Heat either, grabbing at least six rebounds in three of those five games. Considering the small lineups the Nets deploy and the fast pace at which they play, Ellington is a viable option for your entry.

Josh Hart, LAL vs. LAC
FanDuel = $4,400
DraftKings = $4,600

The Lakers have dealt with depth issues at guard lately, with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope being unable to play outside of the state of California because of legal issues and Lonzo Ball (shoulder) injured. Hart has seen an unexpected bump in playing time, as a result, logging at least 30 minutes in three straight games. While he hasn’t put up any monster performances, he’s provided value by averaging 10.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 three-pointers over that stretch. While Caldwell-Pope will be able to play Friday, Ball will still be out of action. Considering his cheap price, he is an option to consider at shooting guard.

SMALL FORWARDS

Lance Stephenson, IND at CHI

DraftKings = $5,600

Stephenson will likely start again Friday with Victor Oladipo (knee) ruled out for the second straight game. Stephenson was fantastic in his first start filling in for Oladipo on Wednesday, scoring 16 points to go along with 15 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two three-pointers. Even with limited minutes outside of Wednesday’s game, Stephenson has now scored at least 10 points in four of his last five games. Look for him to be productive again in this game versus the Bulls.

Allen Crabbe, BKN at MIA
FanDuel = $4,800
DraftKings = $4,300

Like most starters on the Nets, Crabbe struggled in limited minutes Wednesday against the Pelicans. He had averaged 12.6 points in five games entering that contest, so chalk it up to just a bad performance by the team in general. He’s not just an offensive weapon for the Nets either, grabbing at least five rebounds in five straight games. This should be a game filled with small lineups Friday, so Crabbe might be worth the risk at this price.

POWER FORWARDS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Markieff Morris, WAS vs. HOU
FanDuel = $4,900
DraftKings = $4,800

Morris is finally starting to get consistent playing time, resulting in at least 27 minutes in five of his last six games. In those five games, he averaged 13.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.2 three-pointers per contest. The Rockets play a lot of small lineups, to begin with, but will likely really go small with Clint Capela (face) out Friday. Considering they play at the eighth-fastest pace (101.4) in the league, Morris is worth consideration for your entry.

Ryan Anderson, HOU at WAS
FanDuel = $4,200
DraftKings = $5,100

Speaking of the Rockets going small with Capela out, Anderson played a whopping 40 minutes without Capela on Thursday against the Celtics. He didn’t have an explosive performance but managed to finish with nine points, eight rebounds, one steal, one block and two-three-pointers against a tough Celtics defense. His volume alone makes him a possible option for your lineup, but he could really be worth it if he gets hot from behind the arc.

CENTERS

NBA Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks - Value Plays

Julius Randle, LAL vs. LAC
FanDuel = $5,500
DraftKings = $5,100

Randle played only 11 minutes while struggling against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, but had averaged 17.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in three games prior. His struggles Wednesday shouldn’t be surprising as the Grizzlies allow the fewest points per game to opposing centers on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Expect him to play more minutes and fair better Friday, especially if Kyle Kuzma (quad) does not play.

Jakob Poeltl, TOR vs. ATL
FanDuel = $4,300
DraftKings = $4,300

Poeltl is establishing a significant role off the bench for the Raptors, averaging 22 minutes over his last seven games. He doesn’t put up gaudy numbers but did average 8.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks over that stretch. The Hawks don’t have much size up front, resulting in allowing the seventh-most points per game on FanDuel and the sixth most points per game on DraftKings to opposing centers. His ceiling isn’t very high, but Poeltl is a viable option if you want to go really cheap at center.
